Thinking about what the changes would be
if the life span was 400 years brings a lot to the table. Our society has been
built up in the belief that life is short and you get to enjoy it only once.
But, what if that is not the case in our world, and you can live for four
centuries? The first things that came up to my mind are the issues that we
would get because of the overpopulation and the lack of resources. However, we
could solve the problem by raising the awareness of when is a good time to have
children. This leads me to think that the generation gap would be amazingly big
since the people would take their time before having a baby. Another thing that
would change is our conception around education due to the fact that we have
more time to explore and learn. In this
environment where everyone lives enough to mature, we can develop a better
society with better values. In conclusion, considering all the differences that
our civilization would have suffered if the life span was longer is an
interesting topic. Personally, I would love the idea of having more time to
contemplate life and enjoy my family.

You shoudn't have done that!
Dear old Notebook:
Do you remember all the
good times that you gave me? you let me play all the games that I wanted to
play, and had all the music that I wanted to listen to. You were the best company
that I got on the weekends when I was alone as a hermit in the mountains.
But something changed, years passed and you weren't behaving like you used to. Suddenly, you started
turn off without a sign. Every time that you decided not to work made me die of
frustration and encouraged me to hate you with my whole existence. I was
surprised by the fact that I didn't throw you out of my room through the
window.
The problem wasn't that you
made me want to explode every time that you went crazy and deleted all my
progress on my projects for the school, but the humiliation that I felt when I
cried at midnight after figuring out that I would have to spent a couple of
extra hours just because you thought that it would be a good idea to turn
your screen completely black in order to get me a little more relaxed. You Shouldn’t have done that! Didn't
you see that my entire family woke up just to hear me crying and laugh out of
my pain?
At least now you are resting,
holding in your hard drive all the good moments that we shared.
missing you, but just a little... Fabo.

Summer adventure
When I was
ten we travel to a small town next to a lake in the south of Chile during the
summer Vacations. My family rented a very nice house to stay, and I really
liked where it was placed because I was able to just walk a few steps to reach
the lake and enjoy the warm and clear water. Besides the location, the weather
and the main attraction for the tourist, there was an old cabin next to ours,
that got my curiosity. It was ruined by the years that passed since it was
occupied by people. During the first week, I checked a lot times the
surroundings of the small house for an opening, hoping the rotten wood in the
wall suddenly would fall and let me go in. Even though that never happened, I
found a fissure under the mysterious cottage while I was playing football with
a friend that I made there. We crawled into the foundations of the house. I
could feel the moist ground with my hands and knees, going forward trying to
avoid a rusty nail. My friend and I reached a hole in the floor above us, big
enough to let us get in. I was really excited, but then I felt really disappointed
when I discover that was almost empty inside. It had just one room and no furniture
but a wrecked wardrobe. I check it and
found a little box with a few photos in it. The photos were of the house and a
family standing in the front of it. We thought that thought belonged to
previous owner of the house, or a family member of the man that rented us the
house. We take the box and leave the house. Before we left at the end of the
holidays, I gave the box to the owner of the house, and thanked me for finding
the box that belonged to his grandmother. I remember this little adventure with
joy and nostalgia because now I can’t do things like that anymore.

In my early
years, I was a curious child. I used to ask a lot of questions to my parents
and siblings, and they answered me immediately to feed my curiosity. When I
learn to read, I started to search for information and interesting facts in
science and history books that my mother collected and had in store for me in
case I needed them for homework, When Internet was not an accessible thing. However,
as I was growing up I got more selective about the topics which I was
interested in, and ironically, when I got access to internet I dismissed the
science for "less important" themes like videogames and series. This habit
has helped me a lot since then. Whenever I get really involved in a topic I
conduct an extensive research on it, so that I will be informed enough to talk
about it and offer input with a good background. In Conclusion, I think I am
really proud of this facet that I developed back when I was a child, even
though I am not as curious as I was, which has proved to be very helpful since
then.
